|
|
Hi there,
I was advised by a sales person from The Brick at Warden/Eglinton that they will have a VIP sale on June 12.
I was told the sale is by invitation only and the saving can be as low as 40%-50% depend on the manufacturer's margin and your negotiation skill.
If anyone is interested, just go to the store before June 12 and ask any sales to obtain one.
Good luck. |

I wonder if they would give us money back on all the stuff we bought from them??!

BUYER BEWARE.....Here's my BRICK rant.....
May 31st we had our washer/dryer delivered. The guys who delivered it were LATE --- They were supposed to arrive between 2pm and 5pm.... They FINALLY came at 7:30 PM, at which point while unloading from the truck, proceeded to DRAG(!!!) the dryer across the pavement before putting the harnesses on to carry it in.
Before they left I pointed out that the front face of the dryer was coming away (likely from the DRAGGING) and the guy told me after trying to clip it back in that it was broken and I’d have to either call a technician or have a replacement sent out. UM.... WHAT??!!
Fine (BIG SIGH) So, I opted to have it replaced – I found the BRICK somewhat unapologetic.... so to that, I then demanded some sort of compensation (I got the delivery charge of $50 removed – big whoop).
Yesterday, I went to the house at 8am to wait for the delivery people to come and exchange the dryer. They are supposed to call between 7am and 9am to let us know when our three-hour window will be during the daytime delivery period.
By 9:30 I hadn’t heard from them, so I called the BRICK. No one picked up the phone....perhaps they open at 10am.... At 10:15am I call again and get someone who tells me that they will call the drivers to find out what our delivery window is and call me back. No one called back.
A couple of hours later, Jeff is back and so I get HIM to call. They tell him the same thing and say that they will try calling the drivers again. No one calls, no one shows up.
We call a couple times more, consider leaving, but don’t. In the end, we waited until 5:30 and called the BRICK back to “officially” cancel the appointment.
NINE AND A HALF HOURS of waiting and most of a date WASTED.
OH....and we also don't have A/C yet, so I was angry AND hot..... |

Nice! Nice! Nice! Did you buy from the Brick at Warden/Eglinton? They screwed up our order in the store many times. We had to yell at them to set things right. In the end, we got an upgraded bedroom and living room set.
Our delivery guys from the Brick were pretty good though, I will admit that. Very minimal bumps on the walls and they took most of the packaging away.
The delivery guys from the Bay, now that is a different story. They did like yours did: droped our washer/dryer right out of the truck, they dragged it too. After they left, we noticed that the cycle nob on our washer was smashed in. Of course they Bay didn't give a crap, they just sent us their next availble unit... 2 weeks later. Sigh.
Nothing is easy these days.

No, I bought them from a store closer to where I was living in Toronto...(Dufferin/Dupont)
I will be writing a letter of complaint FOR SURE.
Strangely though, our neighbours next door had some furniture delivered from the BRICK the same day we received ours... I never asked them, but the guys seemed a lot more compentent than the ya-hoos who delivered our washer/dryer.
The conspiracy-theory side of me wonders if not showing up on Sunday was their revenge for making the complaint to begin with.... But then again, I might be watching too many movies - ha ha!

| I think it's all depend on the individual deliver guy. I had experienced a very bad deliver driver/contractor from Future Shop who just simply dropped the TV from the truck to the ground (at least 4 feet above the ground). Consequently, there was a big crack on the TV frame when he opened the box. I was the one have to call and kept that broken TV for a week before receive the replacement unit. |

Lovely! There are bad apples everywhere it seems. The first Bay delivery guys that we had were horrible but the second guys were great. It almost feels like they rotate good and bad... hmm, I hope that doesn't mean our fridge delivery on Saturday will be bad?! We just had the walls fixed up and painted.

Update: The dryer was FINALLY exchanged this past Sunday and the new delivery guys were a million times better!
Also, the BRICK offered us a gift certificate with their apologies.
So the lesson kids, is if you don't get good customer service, don't be afraid to say something about it.
Hooray! |

That's good to hear! You never know what to expect with these delivery guys. We had some guys from the Bay come on Saturday and he ran his sweaty arm all the way up the wall when they were trying to get our fridge in. Gross!

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it for? We were able to get $200 from the Bay for their multiple screw ups.
We are still fighting with them... they brought our fridge on Saturday... but the door opens on the right side!!!! They were supposed to switch it. Seriously, how hard could it be to get something right??

I'll second that!

We got the delivery charge removed ($50) plus a gift certificate for $75
Not as good as your $200, but at least the issue was acknowledged and an attempt to regain our business was made.... so it's still a win!
Also, I made sure the Brick knew how great the last 2 guys were -- I have to give credit where it's due!

I agree with you! Do a good job and you will get credit for it!
So would you shop at the Brick again? Even though they fixed our problem there too after lots of arguing, I still don't know if I would. I guess we shall see when the needs arises.
